Hey y’all! Hope you have had a lovely weekend! Mine has been so relaxing. I spent yesterday with the fam listening to sermons, looking at flowers in town, and eating a delicious chocolate cake my sister made! Today we were gardening all morning (or what was left of it since I got up at 11 haha) in the glorious sunshine and took photos in the afternoon! Facetimed some sweet of friends this evening and got all caught up! It was the SWEETEST day!
SO excited about todays post – this jumpsuit is the cutest! I ordered at the beginning of April and finally got it the other day! Even cuter in person than online.
I love literally everything about this! I think the best part is the pattern – not quite polka-dots, so I call them speckles:)
Also, I’ve NEVER worn a jumpsuit before – kinda crazy! Now I am totally in love, I will definitely be adding some more to my wardrobe! Another part I love about this jumpsuit is the yellow/rust color. The website called is Ochre, which I have never heard in my life, but it’s just so fun and perfect for a spring to summer.
Not only does it have the sweetest gathered waistline, but there are POCKETS! And they fit my phone perfectly. Anything with pockets is a must-have!
You definitely need this jumpsuit – especially because it is ON SALE for under $20!
Thanks so much for reading friend! Hope you had a lovely weekend and best wishes for the new week!

Hey you! Welcome back to the blog. I am so excited about today’s post! Introducing my new brand name WILDFLOWER NORTHERN.
My main goal here at Wildflower Northern is to spread the joy of Jesus around like wildfire! I can’t imagine what I’d do without His boundless joy – and I want you to experience it too!!
You cannot imagine the time I have spent trying to come up with a name for this blog… All my friends have even lost count of how many times I change the name, and I think maybe I have too haha! At last we have the perfect name!
I chose Wildflower Northern because it is so perfectly me. I’m from the Northern United States, and honestly I put that there becuase I think it sounds cool haha;) and I have a lifelong LOVE of wildflowers – they’re just so carefree and colorful, just like I try to be – so what could be better than to use these two parts of my life as the name? At last I’ve found it!
I wanted a name that could encompass any direction I wanted to take the blog. For now, I’m going for a faith and fashion platform, but who knows what the future holds – all I know is that I am beyond excited to be on this adventure and to have you along!!
I guarantee you fashion tips are coming your way SOON!
God has been working on my heart in so many ways, and I can’t wait to see where He brings me with blogging:)
Thanks so much for reading sweet friend! Do feel free to share my blog with anyone you know so they can follow along as well:) The more the merrier!
“Rather, in humility, value others above yourselves.” (Philippians 2:3)
Personally, I think this is the hardest verse in the Bible to obey. And I think our society could say the same thing. “Be you”, “Do you”, “Love yourself” – sayings like this surround us night and now. Of course I believe that self-love and self-care are very important, but I think that it’s time we take our life focus off ourselves, and pay more attention to those around us – like Jesus did.
I’ve found that constantly focusing on myself and fulfilling my own desires leaves me empty. Jesus knows that, and that is why He calls us to do something that leaves us alive and energized! Serve.
Serving doesn’t always have to mean doing huge projects like helping build someone’s house or opening a food kitchen. While big serving projects are wonderful, Serving can also be simply. It can be simply reminding ourselves throughout our day – more you.
So much focus is on me, my way, my life. If we simply turn our main focus off “me” and onto “you” it makes a world of difference. The little things don’t matter so much. Someone cuts you off in traffic? Instead of angrily asking how could they do that to ME? we could swith to thinking I wonder what would drive YOU to do that, YOU must be having a bad day. And then the focus is off us. The irritation melts away, and we have more empathy.
How I’ve started reminding myself to focus on others is writing this little mantra on my hand “More You”. Every time I look down and see if, I ask myself – how can I respond better, more focused on others? This has helped me so much over the past few days and I want to encourage to do the same!
Lifting our eyes off of “Me” and onto Jesus changes the way we think and live. “Me” is lost from sight as selfishness melts away into a selfless love for others.
Will you choose with me today to “value others above yourselves”? It will truly change your life.
Thanks so much for reading sweet friend – stay close to Jesus,
Happy first day of spring!! Can you believe it is SPRING already? I am so excited to see all the flowers blooming and the sun shining at last! Here in Michigan its been a super mild winter and I’ve already seen budding flowers around – must be the promse for the loveliest spring:)
In celebration of the first official day of spring, I wanted to share with you a few tips for spring cleaning your heart and life this season. I think so often our lives can get bogged down in the winter blues, especially this year with the corona quarantine and all, so here are a few tips on how to keep your soul full of sunshine!
1// Heart Check
Oh yes, heart check time. Anxieties, sins we can’t seem to let go of, grudges, fears hidden in the deep corners of our souls. Jesus wants to free us from them all. A spring mindset can’t fill you up if your heart is bringing you down! Friend, I want to challenge you to really dig deep and ask the Lord if you are holding back something from His loving care. I promise you won’t regret it. “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36
2// Remove Distractions
I have found lately that so many things distract us from our purpose. Maybe its an Instagram account that its time to unfollow, maybe its social media altogether, maybe you’re distracted by an unhealthy relationship. Whatever it is, its important to keep our focus on God and eliminate things from our lives that keep us from Him. I once heard it said, “Whatever attracts and holds our attention will eventually direct the path of our lives.” The only One we can trust our lives with is Jesus, so let us strive together to keep our eyes on Him – always.
3// Clear out your Inbox
Delete. All. The. Emails. Yes, even the ones from way back in 2013. I am a perfectionist with keeping my inbox clear, and it just makes my mind feel so clear and focused when answering emails. I’m sure it will help you too:)
4// Donate Items to Charity
Clearing out your closet will make things feel so fresh. Who wants clothes they never wear anyway?
5// Deep Clean
Start with taking everything out from under your bed – even if there are spider webs. Then try the pantry, then the closet, and maybe next the attic. A thoroughly clean house will take a weight off your shoulders – and what better time to do it than being stuck at home?
6// Journal your Deep Thoughts
Taking a few minutes to write down what’s on your mind will take a burden off your heart like nothing else. Putting my thoughts into worlds can helps me learn more about myself and understand those around me.
7// Take a Walk
Fresh air. Pretty sure no other explanation is needed just because – fresh air, you need some.
For the past few days of quarantine, I’ve found myself with my eyes completely glued to screens. Writing, reading, posting, studying – and it’s exhausting. Today, its my goal to unplug and go outside. While technology is great, the outdoors is so fulfilling and refreshing. If you’re struggling to focus, I would highly recommend spending some time outside, it seems to clear all the senses.
9// Reconnect with Old Friends
Why not meet up with that old classmate some sunny afternoon? Catching up is so refreshing and always helps me see life from a different perspective.
10// Update your Devices
Do you ever have that constant notification every time you open your computer – “updates available”? Maybe its just me but this drives me crazy. Spring is the perfect time to finally just sit down and let your computer/phone update – getting rid of that notification will make a world of difference.
11// Re-amp your New Years Resolutions
I heard this tip once and thought it was a perfect way to get the spring mindset. Honestly, I just realized writing this that I don’t even remember what half of mine are… better go back to the notes app and find them, haha. Reminding ourselves of the motivation mindset we started the year with will give us just the spring in our step we need.
Thanks for reading sweet friend! Go outside and enjoy this beautiful spring weather. See you on my next post!
P.S. SOO excited about Sasha’s new Lightroom presets! They just launched yesterday and I bought them literally hours after they launched – don’t they make these photos so light and airy? You can get them at her Etsy shop to add gorgeous lighting to your photos:)
